Bailiff Roger DeHart Receives Civilian of the Year Award
The Seventeenth Circuit congratulates court bailiff Roger DeHart who was honored with the Broward County Chiefs of Police Association’s Civilian of the Year award on December 3.
The award was created to recognize outstanding services and achievement by a non-sworn employee on behalf of the members of the Broward County Chief’s of Police Association. The BCCPA Civilian Employee of the Year Award recognizes exceptional contributions by civilian employees engaged in the delivery of law enforcement related services or contributions in support of services demonstrated within Broward County.

Judges “Swear In” Nova Middle School Law Students
Last week, Judge Porth and Judge DePrimo swore in students in Nova Middle School’s law class. It is Judge Porth’s second year of holding the swearing in ceremony for the middle school students.
Central Courthouse Hosts Congressional Debate Tournament
This past Friday, the Central Courthouse hosted approximately 80 high schoolers who were participating in a Congressional Debate Tournament, sponsored by the School Board of Broward County. The half-day event took place in four different courtrooms, with judges “judging” the arguments from the teens. The group represented public schools from all across Broward County.
