The final round of the annual Broward County Mock Trial Competition was held this week in the central courthouse with Judge Michele Towbin-Singer presiding over the middle school trial, and Chief Judge Jack Tuter presiding over the high school’s.
The Seventeenth Circuit held its 2022 Black History Month celebration February 18, 2022. The event honored and recognized many judges and magistrates on the Circuit’s bench!

On Friday, February 11, Chief Judge Jack Tuter, State Attorney Harold Pryor and Public Defender Gordon Weekes delivered an overview of their agencies’ operations during the past year, noting the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic presented (and still presents) and the ways the courts adapted in order to keep the wheels of justice turning. Broward County Mayor Michael Udine presented Judge Tuter with a proclamation from the county commission and Broward County Bar Association President Jamie Finizio Bascombe presented “Friend of the Bar” awards to Circuit Judge Fabienne Fahnestock, County Judge Robert W. Lee, and Joshua D. Rydell, Vice Mayor of Coconut Creek.
Judge Bristol and Judicial Assistants Kim Oliva and Jackie Sargiotto represented the 9th floor at Friday’s (2/11/22) blood drive outside the Central Courthouse.
