Friday, December 2, 2022, were the robings of the Honorable Natasha DePrimo and the Honorable Tabitha Blackmon at the 17th Judicial Circuit Courthouse.
Family and friends joined in attendance as Judge DePrimo and Judge Blackmon were honored and recognized for their great accomplishments. They were each presented with a plaque and gavel in their name from the Broward County Bar Association.
Both judges shared their gratitude for all the support and kindness they have received on their paths to success and continued future achievement.

Joshua Simmons, the Vice Mayor for the City of Coral Springs, was sworn in for an additional term as Commissioner for Seat 4 on November 30, 2022 by the Honorable Judge Florence Taylor Barner at Coral Springs City Hall.
Vice Mayor Simmons is the first African American Commissioner in Coral Springs to be elected. He has been recognized for his important work and leadership with the Black community in Coral Springs. Vice Mayor Simmons also has been recognized as a local leader who advocated for home rule when he recently received the Florida League of Cities Home Rule Hero Award.
Congratulations to you, Vice Mayor Simmons, for your outstanding efforts in leadership and community outreach!

The Broward County Judicial Assistants Association was recognized by Voices for Children of Broward County for their excellent contributions to their Thanksgiving Food Drive.
With the aid of the Judicial Assistant Alissa Quintero and several members of the BCJAA, Voices for Children were able to help fifty families with a special holiday meal.
The 17th Judicial Circuit applauds the BCJAA and Judicial Assistant Alissa Quintero for the important work that you do!

On Monday, November 21, 2022, Judge Williams was acknowledged by The Florida Patriot which is sponsored by the Broward County Board Association. The annual program honors legal veterans for their service and contributions to country and community.

Saturday, November 19, 2022, was National Adoption Day at the 17th Judicial Circuit Courthouse. Approximately 30 adoptions took place at the Broward County Courthouse. The Courthouse was filled with displays with information about adoption, tables of toys and gifts for the children and much more.
Several Judges participated in the success of the event including Judge Shari Africk Olefson, Judge Hope Tieman Bristol, Judge Stacey Schulman, Judge Jose Izquierdo, Judge John Bowman and Chief Judge Jack Tuter.
The 17th Judicial Circuit congratulates all the families that adopted a child that day and wishes them all success and happiness in their new journey.

Chief Judge Jack Tuter was honored on November 18, 2022 with the unveiling of a portrait dedicated to him for his service to the Judicial System and the community of Broward County.
Chief Judge Tuter’s portrait will be displayed in Courtroom 17150 in the West Wing of the Courthouse.
Guest speakers included ABOTA-Fort Lauderdale President Eric Rosen, Broward County Commissioner Mark Bogen, and Fourth District Court of Appeals Judge Dorian K. Damoorgian.
