BSO Opens First Appearance Courtroom

The BSO celebrated the grand opening of their new courtroom where first appearances will be held starting November 18, 2022. The courtroom will predominantly be used for first appearances with remote proceedings.


The courtroom will also be used for Circuit Judges/Magistrates in the event of an emergency at the central courthouse.

Henry D. Perry Education Center visits the 17th Judicial Circuit

The middle school students of Henry D. Perry Education Center arrived at the 17th Judicial Circuit Courthouse for a tour and Q&A session with several judges on Tuesday, November 15th 2022.

Students were able to inquire about the role of a Staff Attorney by speaking with attorney Dharma Sierra. They also experienced a judge’s ruling firsthand as they visited Judge Michael Usan and Judge Elijah Williams in their courtrooms.
