Lawyers for Literacy Read to Students

The Broward Bar Association Young Lawyers group called Lawyers for Literacy gathered to read the book, “Who Took the Cookies from the Cookie Jar” to  eleven classes of pre-kindergarten students at Dillard Elementary School last week. The lawyers read to the students and also explained what lawyers do to help the community and individuals. The students had lots of questions and gathered to give attorney Amanda Decker and Judge Robert F. Diaz a group hug before they left. The lawyers and students were all smiles and a good time was had by all.

 

BCBA’s Young Lawyers and Judge Diaz Wrap for Annual Holiday in February Event

On Tuesday, February 18th, 2020, board members of Broward Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, along with Judge Robert Diaz, gathered at the home of attorney Kimberly Wald of Kelly Uustal to wrap presents for their Annual Holiday in February event. On Saturday, February 22, 2020, they will bring 50 foster children to the Museum of Science and Discovery for a day of fun, gifts, and a museum exploration.

This annual event has been bringing joy to foster children in Broward County for over 20 years.

The Trial Court Administrator’s Office is hiring qualified people to fill vacancies including: Certified Spanish Court Interpreter, Court Program Specialists in Mental Health, Dependency, and Domestic Relations, Teen Court Case Manager, Digital Court Reporter, Trial Court Staff Attorney and several IT positions.
