Judge Florence Taylor Barner united with the Community Court Pompano Beach to recognize Major Wayne Adkins who was retiring after 47 years of service with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Major Adkins was on the steering committee for the Community Court Pompano Beach and will be forever esteemed for playing an instrumental role in the establishment of this location.
Students from the BSO Explorer program of Pompano Beach visited the 17th Circuit courthouse on Tuesday, February 19, 2024.

Students engaged in brief sessions with various judges and attorneys who offered career advice and suggested best practices for the students as they begin their journeys as legal professionals.
Assisting with the event were 17th Circuit judges Elaine A. Carbuccia, Michele Towbin Singer, Lorena V. Mastrarrigo, and former 17th Circuit judge and Dean at St Thomas University College of Law Tarlika Nunez-Navarro.
