The 7th grade students of Saint Bonaventure Catholic School visited the 17th Circuit Courthouse for a series of tours beginning Tuesday, March 19, 2024 and ending Thursday, March 21, 2024.

Students had the opportunity to meet and speak with several judges, 17th Circuit staff, and partners including Chief Judge Jack Tuter, Judges Lorena V Mastrarrigo, Betsy Benson, Florence Taylor Barner, Catalina Avalos, Michael A. Robinson, Natasha DePrimo, Supervising Trial Court Staff Attorney Megan Zbikowski, Director of Mediation and Arbitration Brittany Simpson Joseph and Public Defender Gordon Weekes.

The Children’s Services Council of Broward County came to visit the 17th Circuit courthouse on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Judges Lauren M. Alperstein and Michael Davis read the book “I Promise” by LeBron James to students, which shares a story about dedication and the importance of giving
back to your community.

Magistrate Linda Ivelisse Gonzalez was sworn in on Monday, March 18, 2024 by Chief Judge Jack Tuter at the 17th Circuit Courthouse.

Magistrate Gonzalez was able to share this significant moment with her loved ones who were present, alongside courthouse staff.

The 17th Circuit celebrated International Women’s Day on Friday, March 8, 2024 with a panel of six influential women hosted by Judge Michele Towbin Singer, Managing Partner Rae Chorowski, Partner Madeleine Mannello and Executive Director Braulio Rosa.

Panelists gave anecdotal advice and shared their passage to becoming the leaders that they are today.

Judge Robert F. Diaz hosted the 24^th annual Hispanic Law Student Luncheon on Friday, March 22, 2024 at the 17^th Circuit courthouse.

The luncheon began twenty five years ago with only five students in attendance. With the exception of the pandemic years, the guest list has now increased to over sixty Hispanic lawyers and judges.
