Several judges took part in a Judicial Roundtable Discussion on Friday, February 1, for first-year students in Nova Southeastern’s Shepard Broad College of Law program. The topic was The Importance of Professionalism in Adversarial Legal Writing and the students heard presentations from the judges and then took part in break-out groups for deeper discussion.

Last Friday, Judge Michael Davis hosted pre-law students from Florida International University who visited the South Satellite Courthouse in Hollywood to observe court.
Court Administration hosted Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Friday, with an itinerary that included a mock trial with Teen Court, BSO SWAT, Bomb Squad and DUI demonstrations, a mock crime scene by BSO Crime Lab, and of course, court observation. Several judges hosted students in their courtrooms as well.
It was a good day had by all!
Last weekend, Judge Susan Alspector and Judge Jackie Powell attended the city of Miramar’s Wall of Honor Ceremony, to honor three community activists for their work.
