Judges Recognized at Women’s History Month Events

Congratulations to the judges who were recognized in two separate events this week, as part of Women’s History Month.

The Broward County Bar Association along with the Broward County Women Lawyers’ Association hosted “International Women’s Day: A Celebration of Women in the Legal Community” and spotlighted Judges Hope Bristol, Stacy Ross, and Florence Taylor, for their leadership in the legal field. The annual celebration began a few years ago, when Judge Michele Towbin-Singer took an active role in drafting the program.

Judge Kathleen McCarthy was recognized for her contributions to the legal community at the 2021 Latinas in Law event, hosted by the Broward County Bar Association Hispanic Lawyers and the Broward County Hispanic Bar Association.

Congratulations to all who were recognized and honored!

Girls Court Success Story

A former youth in Judge Stacy Ross’ Girls Court, Brianna put everything she had into diversion and getting her life back on track. While attending court hearings via zoom, she often showed the judge her artwork – custom pieces she makes in her spare time. Shown here, and delivered just yesterday, is a custom piece requested by Judge Ross of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Brianna has now started her own art business, and will graduate high school this fall. She’s hoping to go to college to become an Art Therapist.
