Community Court Welcomes New Mobile Shower Bus with Showering Love

Showering Love, a mobile shower service that provides showers and other services to the homeless, unveiled its second mobile bus today with a ribbon cutting ceremony held just before Community Court began at Fort Lauderdale’s City Hall. The new bus includes a laundry facility onboard and will be parked out front every Wednesday morning when Community Court is in session.
Judge Florence Barner presides over the Community Court docket and was one of the ribbon cutters along with Commissioner Ben Sorensen, Vice Mayor Lamar Fisher, and the founder of Showering Love, Jeanne Albaugh.
15th Circuit Leaders Visit the 17th Circuit

On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, agency heads from the 15th Judicial Circuit visited the central courthouse in downtown Fort Lauderdale to learn more about our hybrid courtrooms. Chief Judge Glenn Kelley, together with Trial Court Administrator Barbara Dawicki, State Attorney Dave Aronberg, Public Defender Carey Haughwout and staff, toured our circuit’s hi-tech courtrooms accompanied by Chief Judge Jack Tuter, Trial Court Administrator Kathy Pugh, and others.

Director of Mediation and Arbitration, Jeanne Potthoff, Receives Susan Dubow Service Award

Congratulations to Jeanne Potthoff for receiving the Susan Dobow Service Award from the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators! Jeanne has worked for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit for more than 30 years, and has also been involved in establishing the Residential Eviction mediation program, Veterans Court, the shared calendar, Juvenile Traffic Court and Teen Court.
