New Judges Library Opens in Central Courthouse

The 2018 Department of Children and Families Child Protection Summit took place last week, and two staff members were recognized for their outstanding work in Early Childhood Court. Judge Martin Bidwill has be re-appointed by the Supreme Court of Florida to serve another three-year term on the Florida Courts Technology Commission. Since 2012, he has served on the commission whose purpose is to oversee, manage, and direct the development and use of technology within the judicial branch and is responsible for recommending technology policies and procedures for the judicial branch, in order to support a court system that will effectively carry out the administration of justice.
On Thursday, September 6, Chief Judge Tuter spoke at the South Broward Bar Association Luncheon. He discussed the State of the Circuit, recognized some retiring judges and newly elected judges, and discussed future plans to establish a Community Court in the 17th Circuit.
The Seventeenth Circuit congratulates all incumbent judges for being chosen to serve another six-year term, including: Judge Ernest Kollra and Judge Michael Usan for the Circuit bench and Judge Michael Davis, Judge Robert Diaz, and Judge Robert Lee for the County Court bench. Congratulations also go out to newly elected Judges Shari Beth Africk-Olefson, Susan Lynn Alspector and Dan Casey.
