The Honorable Stefanie C. Moon has been recognized by the Florida Bar news where they highlight her nomination to serve a three-year term on the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society Board of Trustees.
The Florida Supreme Court Historical Society has elected seven individuals to serve on the board of Trustees, including Judge Moon. Their three-year term began July 1, 2023 and ends June 30, 2026.

Judge Michele Towbin Singer was featured in an article for the Florida Bar Journal highlighting
her recognition from ABOTA Fort Lauderdale at its annual Installment and Award ceremony on
January 11, 2024.
Judge Singer will be representing the 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida and receiving an award for
“Judge of the Year”.

The Honorable Robert W. Lee recently co-authored an article with his former judicial intern Yair S. Bengio for the Jan/Feb Issue 2024 of the Florida Bar Journal. The article focuses on the role of the joint pretrial stipulation in civil cases under the new case management procedures.

The Broward County Hispanic Bar Association joined the 17th Circuit to host a Holiday Drive for
Teenagers on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
Several teenagers from group homes received generous holiday packages that were created
from gifts provided by donors and sponsors of the event. Live music was provided from Judge
Diaz and friends, along with food and holiday pastries for all to enjoy.
Judge Melinda Brown held her annual holiday party at the 17th Circuit courthouse on
December, 8, 2023.
Staff from various departments in the courthouse came to Judge Brown’s gathering and
enjoyed great food, great company, and were able to join in on a few holiday carols sung by
staff from the Court Reporting department.
The City of Fort Lauderdale has announced a new location for Community Court. Beginning
Wednesday, December 20, 2023, it will be held in its new location at 18 NW 1st Avenue Fort
Lauderdale, FL 33301 on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
